FIRE OFFICIALS SAY A SANDERSVILLE CHURCH IS A TOTAL LOSS... AFTER A FIRE GUTTED THE BUILDING TODAY
... AND THEY SAY THEY'RE STILL CONCERNED THAT THE STRUCTURE COULD COLLAPSE.

PARTS OF A HISTORIC SANDERSVILLE CHURCH... ARE DESTROYED.
THAT'S AFTER FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH CAUGHT FIRE TODAY AT AROUND ELEVEN A.M.
CHURCH PASTOR DALE ANDREWS SAYS THE CONGREGATION WAS JUST DAYS AWAY FROM COMPLETING A FOUR-YEAR RESTORATION OF THE SANCTUARY.
SANDERSVILLE FIRE CHIEF RUSSELL RINER SAYS THAT PART OF THE CHURCH COULDN'T BE SAVED.
RINER SAYS THEY DON'T KNOW HOW THE FIRE BEGAN.
INTENSE HEAT AND SMOKE INHALATION SENT ONE FIREFIGHTER TO THE HOSPITAL.
TWO OTHERS WERE TREATED AT THE CHURCH FOR DEHYDRATION.
PASTOR ANDREWS SAYS THE CHURCH WAS A SANDERSVILLE LANDMARK.
CHURCH MEMBER JOY PENDRY SAYS SHE KNOWS THE COMMUNITY WILL PULL TOGETHER.
PASTOR ANDREWS SAYS THEY WILL HOLD THEIR ANNUAL OUTDOOR SERVICE THIS SUNDAY... AS THEY ALREADY PLANNED TO DO.
HE SAYS THEY'LL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE IF THE SANCTUARY CAN BE RESTORED.

THIS MORNING... THE SEARCH FOR A MISSING TEEN THAT SPANNED THREE COUNTRIES... CAME TO AN END IN NORTH BIBB COUNTY.
ACCORDING TO THE BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE... 18-YEAR-OLD EUSTACE MARTIN... VANISHED FROM THE ATLANTA AIRPORT ON SUNDAY.
SHERIFF JERRY MODENA SAYS THE TEEN GOT ON A GROOME VAN... AND ENDED UP IN BIBB COUNTY MONDAY.

FRANK... LEAH... AROUND 8:00 THIS MORNING... THE BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE GOT A PHONE CALL... SAYING SOMEONE WAS WALKING THROUGH THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD KNOCKING ON DOORS.
THAT SOMEONE WAS 18-YEAR-OLD EUSTACE MARTIN... THE CANADIAN TEEN WHO'S BEEN MISSING FOR FIVE DAYS.
THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS HE WAS ON HIS WAY BACK FROM VISITING HIS FATHER IN ST. KITTS... TO HIS HOME IN VANCOUVER.
A LAYOVER IN ATLANTA... THAT SHERIFF MODENA SAYS... LASTED LONGER THAN EXPECTED.

Sheriff Modena: "It wasn't a bad guy trying to break in, it was just a kid that had not had any nourishment or water over the last few days."

MODENA SAYS THE TEEN WAS RETURNING FROM VISITING HIS FATHER IN ST. KITTS... TO HIS HOME IN VANCOUVER.

AFTER A LAYOVER IN THE ATLANTA AIRPORT... MODENA SAYS MARTIN BECAME CONFUSED... AND HOPPED ON A GROOME VAN TO MACON... MONDAY MORNING.

LAURA MCCONNELL IS THE OPERATIONS MANAGER AT THE NORTH MACON GROOME STATION... SHE SAYS... SHE'S SHOCKED.

Laura McConnell, Operations Manager: "I feel almost heartbroken that a young man would be in a position where for some reason he felt like he couldn't ask for help."

MODENA SAYS MARTIN WAITED THREE DAYS... LIVING IN THE WOODS BY GROOME... ON JUST WATER.

Modena: "He was dehydrated, hadn't eaten, things like that."

A SEARCH FOR A TEEN THAT COVERED THREE COUNTRIES... MODENA SAYS... HE'S GLAD TO SEE COME TO AN END.

Modena: "He was in distress, he was lost, he was oriented, he was thirsty, he was hungry."

THE AUNT WILL DRIVE MARTIN BACK TO THE AIRPORT TO REUNITE WITH HIS MOTHER.... WHO IS SCHEDULED TO ARRIVE AROUND 10 O'CLOCK TONIGHT.

MARTIN WAS TREATED AT THE MEDICAL CENTER OF CENTRAL GEORGIA THIS MORNING... FOR DEHYDRATION AND MALNUTRITION.

MACON STATE SENATOR AND MAYORAL CANDIDATE...ROBERT BROWN IS APPRENTLY OK AFTER A FENDER BENDER THIS MORNING.
IT HAPPENED AROUND 7-30 AT NEW STREET AND RIVERSIDE DRIVE NEAR BROWN'S OFFICE.
MACON POLICE OFFICER TRACEY STANLEY SAID HE DOESN'T EXPECT EITHER DRIVER TO BE TICKETED... BECAUSE NEITHER WAS CLEARLY AT FAULT.
SENATOR BROWN DECLINED TO SPEAK TO US.
AN AMBULANCE ARRIVED ON THE SCENE... BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES.
THERE WAS HOWEVER MINOR DAMAGE TO BOTH CARS.

WE TOLD YOU YESTERDAY ON EYEWITNESS NEWS THAT THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ANNOUNCED SAYS THE MACON AREA NOW MEETS FEDERAL CLEAN AIR STANDARDS.
