STUDENTS AND FAMILIES PACKED THE MILLER-MURPHY-HOWARD BUILDING IN PERRY TO CELEBRATE THE END OF THEIR HIGH SCHOOL YEARS.
OVER FOUR HUNDRED NORTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS RECEIVED THEIR DIPLOMAS TODAY.
VALEDICTORIAN KATELYN THORNBURG REMINDED HER CLASSMATES ABOUT ALL OF THE THINGS THEY HAD SEEN AND BEEN THROUGH TOGETHER IN THE PAST FOUR YEARS.
AFTER TURNING THEIR TASSLES... THE GRADUATES SANG THEIR ALMA MATER... FOR THE FIRST TIME AS NORTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI.
ONE PARENT SHARED HIS PROUDEST MOMENT... SEEING HIS DAUGHTER'S SPECIAL DAY.

THE FULTON COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER'S OFFICE SAYS 30-YEAR-OLD LASHAWNA THREATT WAS KILLED.
POLICE SAY A SECOND WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO GRADY HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION.
A GEORIGA MAN WAS GIVEN A LIFETIME BAN FROM DELTA AIRLINES... AFTER HE WAS ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF CARRYING A WEAPON ON A DIVERTED FLIGHT TO MEMPHIS.
AUTHORITIES SAY THE MAN LIT A LIGHTER DURING A FLIGHT AND CLAIMED HE HAD A TUBE OF GAS THAT WOULD PUT PASSENGERS TO SLEEP.
THE PLANE WAS SEARCHED AND NOTHING WAS FOUND.
AUTHORITIES SAY THE MAN HAD BEEN DRINKING PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT TO ATLANTA.
THE MAN WAS LATER RELEASED ON A TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR BOND.
FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS SOME HOUSTON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HAVE BEEN FILLING UP SEMI-TRUCKS TO HELP TORNADO VICTIMS.
TODAY... THE VOLUNTEERS SAY THEY FILLED AT LEAST SEVEN PICK UP TRUCKS.
THEY COLLECTED ITEMS LIKE MATRESSES... CLOTHING... HOUSEWARE... AND FOOD.
ORGANIZERS SAYS SO FAR... PERRY AND HOUSTON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOLS HAVE FILLED THEIR SEMI-TRUCKS.
MORE ITEMS ARE BEING TRANSFERRED TO NORTHSIDE HIGH.
SOME VOLUNTEERS SAY THE PROJECT BRINGS THE COMMUNITY CLOSER TOGETHER... TO LEND A HELPING HAND.

JULIA NELLSHAW, PARENT: "WE FORMED A BOND WITH LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY WHO HAVE BEEN SO KIND TO BRING THEIR DONATIONS AND TO POUR THE OUTPOURING OF THEIR HEARTS."
JULIA NELLSHAW SAYS THE SCHOOLS PLAN TO MAKE THE DELIVERIES NEXT WEEKEND TO TUSCALOOSA... AND RINGGOLD GEORGIA.
SHE SAYS THEY HAVE NOT DECIDED YET IF THEY'LL SEND ITEMS TO JOPLIN MISSOURI.
SOME FOLKS TOOK PART IN A FUNDRAISER TO HELP A WARNER ROBINS TEENAGER GET THE CARE SHE NEEDS.
17-YEAR-OLD TAYLOR AYERS SUFFERS FROM A RARE AUTO-IMMUNE DISEASE... AND ANOTHER DISEASE THAT MAKES IT HARD FOR HER TO SWALLOW AND DIGEST FOOD.
HER MOTHER MISSIE AYERS ORGANIZED A YARD SALE SATURDAY... TO RAISE MONEY TO GET TAYLOR TO THE CINNCINATI CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL.
MISSIE AYERS SAYS IT'S THE ONLY HOSPITAL IN THE COUNTRY THAT TREATS HER DAUGHTER'S ILLNESSES.
SHE SAYS THEY NEED ENOUGH MONEY FOR FOOD A PLACE TO STAY... AND TREATMENT THAT'S NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE
THEY SOLD TEDDY BEARS... BOOKS.. CLOTHES.. AND MORE ITEMS OUTSIDE THE PIGGLY WIGGLY ON HOUSTON ROAD IN WARNER ROBINS.
TAYLOR AND HER MOM SAY THE SUPPORT OF PEOPLE WHO TURNED OUT.. WAS REASSURING.

AT THE FRANK JOHNSON CENTER POOL ON MERCER UNIVERSITY DRIVE... GATES OPENED AT NOON.
MORE THAN EIGHTY PEOPLE SHOWED UP TO TAKE A DIP... AND COOL OFF IN THE WATER.
SOME MADE A SPLASH... JUMPING OFF THE POOL'S DIVING BOARD.
THE COST TO SWIM IS ONE DOLLAR PER PERSON.
ALL CITY POOLS ARE OPEN FROM NOON TO SIX ON SATURDAYS... TWO TO FOUR ON SUNDAYS... AND ONE TO SEVEN DURING THE WEEK.
KIDS SAY THEY BEAT THE HEAT... WHILE HAVING FUN.
