<<opening for eyewitness news at eleven>>     GOOD EVENING AND THANKS FOR JOINING US..
I'M FRANK MALLOY..
AND I'M LEAH JOHNSON..THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS AT 11.

TWO DAYS AFTER OFFICIALLY BECOMING A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.. NEWT GRINGRICH DELIVERED HIS FIRST CAMPAIGN SPEECH TO THE GEORGIA REPUBLICAN PARTY CONVENTION IN MACON.
DURING HIS 30-MINUTE ADDRESS.. GRINGICH COVERED ISSUES RANGING FROM FOREIGN POLICY AND FOOD STAMPS TO CREATING JOBS AND ELIMINATING THE INHERITANCE OR DEATH TAX.
RANDALL SAVAGE HAS MORE ON THE FORMER U-S HOUSE SPEAKER'S REMARKS.
<<NEWT GINGRICH SERVED TWENTY YEARS IN THE U-S HOUSE REPRESENTATIVE AS A MEMBER OF THE GEORGIA CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION.. AND HE CHOSE THE GEORGIA REPUBLICAN PARTY'S STATE CONVENTION AS THE SITE FOR HIS FIRST CAMPAIGN SPEECH SINCE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHING HIS PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN.
GINGRICH REITERATED HIS LONG-TIME SUPPORT OF TAX CUTS TO CREATE JOBS..
Newt Gingrich, Republican Presidential Candidate: President Obama believes in an America where we make the rich poor in order to get equality by leveling down. I believe in an America where we make the poor rich so we get equality by bringing everybody up. It is a fundamental difference.
GEORGIA HOUSE SPEAKER DAVID RALSTON LIKED GINGRICH'S STANCE ON JOBS.
25:10:26 David Ralston, Georgia House Speaker: I think Newt is in line with what we've been trying to do in state government that's emphasizing creating jobs, creating economic opportunities for Georgians.
GINGRICH ALSO WANTS TO ELIMINATE THE INHERITANCE TAX PERMANENTLY.
Newt Gingrich, Republican Presidential Candidate: People who are never going to pay it, hate it. And they hate it for the deepest of cultural reasons. First of all most Americans believe it's wrong to require someone to visit the IRS and the undertaker in the same week. They just think it's grotesque.
MARTHA BOND BRANSON.. A MEMBER OF THE JONES COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY.. THINKS GINGRICH IS PERSON WHO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE RECEIVING FOOD STAMPS.
22:42:16 Martha Bond Branson, Jones County Republican: It must impressed me that he wants to turn American back to a paycheck receiving nation, something that we seem to have gotten away from.
RANDALL SAVAGE.. 13 WMAZ.. EYEWITNESS NEWS.
>>  GINGRICH SERVED AS THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT THE G-O-P DINNER FRIDAY NIGHT.
ATLANTA BUSINESSMAN HERMAN CAIN.. ANOTHER REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL FROM GEORGIA IS SCHEDULED TO ADDRESS THE CONVENTION SATURDAY MORNING.
AMONG THOSE ATTENDING FRIDAY NIGHT INCLUDED LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR CASEY CAGLE.. AND SECRETARY OF STATE BRIAN KEMP.

Brig. Gen. Lee Levy: "This is not going to allow us to increase our workforce, but what it will do is make our workforce more efficient and be able to help us control our costs. All you have to do is look at what's going on with the budget and know that cost is very improtant to us."

WARNER ROBINS MAYOR CHUCK SHAHEEN'S BUDGET FOR NEXT YEAR CALLS FOR A SMALL TAX INCREASE... BUT IT ISN'T BALANCED YET.
SHAHEEN'S OFFICE RELEASED THE 35 POINT SIX MILLION BUDGET...FOR THE 2012 BUDGET YEAR.
