HELLO EVERYONE AND THANKS FOR JOINING US..
I'M LEAH JOHNSON.. AND I'M FRANK MALLOY.... THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS AT SIX.

THE DEATH OF ONE CHILD...WOULD LIKELY LEAD TO DESPAIR FOR MOST PARENTS... BUT IMAGINE LOSING TWO AT ONCE.
THAT TRAGEDY HAPPENED TO JAMES AND MELVA SULLIVENT LAST MONTH WHEN BOTH OF THEIR DAUGHTERS DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT.
AS LORRA LYNCH JONES SHOWS YOU... INSTEAD OF GIVING-UP...  THEY'RE REACHING OUT AND THANKING YOU.
<<nats- (show pics1:00) "Leslie of course played on the soccer team. Bridget was a manager for the soccer team."
PEOPLE MIGHT EXPECT JAMES AND MELVA SULLIVENT TO SHUT THE DOORS OF THEIR HOME... AND LOCK THE MEMORIES INSIDE.
Melva: (1:16) "Just so touching, so sweet."
PUT INSTEAD... THE SULLIVENTS INVITED US IN... AS A WAY TO SAY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU.... FOR ALL OF THIS.
Melva: (11:50) "It's what gets us through. We think we can't go on. The community has given us the strength."
WHEN 11-YEAR-OLD BRIDGETT AND 17-YEAR-OLD LESLIE'S LIVES ENDED... THEY SAY THE LETTERS... THE STORIES FROM  FRIENDS... ALLOWED THEM TO KNOW THIER GIRLS IN NEW WAYS.
Melva: (2:20) "We alwasys worried Leslie bothered people, because she kind of mother-henned 'em (crying). We always worried about her having friends. (cover) "Through this, we found out that was one of the qualities about Leslie her friends truly cherished."
JAMES SAYS WHEN THE COMFORT BEGINS TO RUNS OUT.... MORE ENCOURAGEMENT POURS IN.
James: (17:20 ) "It helps us even falling asleep."
AND ITS NOT THEIR OWN GRIEF THAT CONSUMES THEM. THEY SAY THEY'RE AT PEACE...
James: (19:10) "We just think they're in better hands."
IN FACT... THEY'RE WORRIED ABOUT THE FAMILY IN THE OTHER CAR... THE PEOPLE THEIR DAUGHTERS HIT... BUT WERE NOT SERIOUSLY INURED.
James: (21:50) "I keep saying, if we can do anything for them, we'd love to reach out to them."
THEY DONT KNOW THEM.. BUT SAY COMFORT..  DOESNT COME JUST FROM FRIENDS.
FOR EXAMPLE THIS POEM.. A LETTER MAILED FROM A STRANGER.
(14;40) "It says the night of the accident when God called my sister home, you have to understand mom, I couldn't let her go alone.">>
THE SULLIVENTS SAY LESLIE CHOSE TO BE AN ORGAN DONOR... AND A FEW WEEKS BEFORE HER DEATH... TALKED ABOUT  THE IMPORTANCE OF THAT DECISION.
HER PARENTS SAY IT BRINGS THEM COMFORT TO KNOW IN HER DEATH... PARTS OF HER ARE HELPING OTHERS TO LIVE.
