IT'S TIME TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE STORIES MAKING HEADLINES IN THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD TODAY. HERE'S BEN WITH A SCENE 13 SNIPPET. THE OTHER SHOE HAS DROPPED FOR CHARLIE SHEEN.
TONIGHT... WARNER BROTHERS FIRED THE ACTOR FROM HIS STARRING ROLE IN "TWO AND A HALF MEN."
SANDRA HUGHES HAS THE DETAILS FROM LOS ANGELES.<<
Television's highest paid actor is out of a job. Warner Brothers announced it's severing ties with Charlie Sheen, stating.....
"After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen's services on "Two and a Half Men" effective immediately."
In a text to the Associate Press, Sheen responded "They lose." And when asked if he planned to sue....Sheen replied "big."
((nats -- how are ya charlie?))
This is the latest chapter in the 45 year old actor's very public meltdown... the apparent effect of his partying lifestyle, repeat hospitalizations and a bitter campaign against his studio bosses.
Two and Half Men was put on hiatus when Sheen briefly entered rehab in January. But production on the rest of the season was canceled last month after the actor's angry rant against producer and co-creator, Chuck Lorre:
((sot- radio show))
"Chaim Levine, yeah that's Chuck's real name...."
Sheen has taken his campaign viral --- collecting a record number of Twitter followers and starting his own webcast.... "Sheen's Korner."
"Winning. Winning - winning."
And he apparently tattooed the catch-phrase on his wrist.
"CBS CEO Les Moonves said he hoped 2 And A Half Men wasn't over - and so far no one has said it's been cancelled."
But the fate of the number one comedy is unclear. Media outlets reported John Stamos as a possible replacement before Sheen was even fired. Sheen pounced on it, and later apologized to Stamos:
((SOT)) Charlie Sheen (WEDN11) 03-02-11
"you're a beautiful man, a talented man. And if you get the gig, we should talk."
But for now, there's just one and a half men left.
