GAS PRICES IN CENTRAL GEORGIA ARE STILL ON AN UPWARD CLIMB.... AND SITTING NEARLY FIFTY CENTS ABOVE THIS TIME LAST MONTH.
ACCORDING TO TRIPLE-A... MACON'S AVERAGE GAS PRICE IS 3-43 PER GALLON TODAY.
THAT'S THE SAME PRICE AS YESTERDAY... BUT A 15 CENT JUMP FROM THIS TIME LAST WEEK.
WITH PRICES ON THE RISE... MANY OF YOU ARE FEELING THE PAIN AT THE PUMP.
WE CAUGHT UP WITH SOME DRIVERS IN MACON AS THEY FILLED UP THEIR CARS TO SEE WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT THE COST... AND HOW IT'S CHANGING THEIR HABITS.
Ron Simpson, Lawrenceville:  "It makes you shop around for the best gas prices, obviously.  That's the biggest change, probably.  We don't... we'll go out of the way to save five cents sometimes."
Shonte Jones, Macon:  "When I get out of the house, I do everything at once.  Can't burn too much gas, spending too much money out here."
Ray Coon, Macon:  "The bigger your car is, the more you got to pay for the gas.  I try to drive smaller cars so I don't pay that much for gas."
Arnethia Saunders, Macon:  "I wanted to do a little riding around, you know, find out how Macon really is because I'm originally from Florida and I don't get around that much so I wanted to see if I could get Macon.  And I'm not going to be able to do it right now.  I'm going to wait until the prices go down some and then maybe I can adventure out."
GAS PRICES HAVE ALSO SPARKED SOME COMMENTS ON OUR 13WMAZ FACEBOOK PAGE.
MYRTICE RIBBON COMMENTED... "I THINK THE GAS PRICES HAS MADE IT TO WHERE WE NO LONGER GO ANYWHERE. I THINK WE ARE BACK TO THE OLD DAYS; GO SHOPPING ONCE A WEEK; DOCTOR ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS AND SO ON."
DONNA TRUSSELL ASKED... "HOW COME WE CAN'T GET A RAISE WITH THE RAISE OF GAS PRICES?  WOULDN'T THAT BE NICE!"
DEBORAH NEWTON REPLIED... "IF WE GOT A COST OF LIVING RAISE EVERY TIME GAS WENT UP IT WOULD BE TOO MUCH.. COMPANIES WOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS JUST PAYING SALARIES."      AND WILLIAM TAPLEY WROTE... "WHAT ABOUT DIESEL FUEL PRICES?
THE INDEPENDENT CONTRACT TRUCKERS WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS IF WE DON'T PULL TOGETHER AND PUT A STOP TO THESE RISING FUEL AND GAS PRICES.
