GOOD EVENING AND THANKS FOR JOINING US... I'M FRANK MALLOY.
AND I'M LEAH JOHNSON... THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS AT 11.

WHEN PEOPLE BUY A NEW HOME... IT'S FREQUENTLY BECAUSE THEY'RE LOOKING FOR MORE SPACE.
BUT HISTORIC MACON IS TRYING TO CHANGE THAT... BY SHOWING HOME BUYERS THE POSSIBLE WAYS TO USE SMALL SPACES.
THIS SIX HUNDRED SQUARE FOOT HOME IN BEALL'S HILL IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT HISTORIC MACON REFERS TO AS THE 'SMALL HOUSE' MOVEMENT...
THE GOAL IS TO TRY TO ATTRACT MORE FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS TO UP AND COMING AREAS... BY DESIGNING AFFORDABLE... AND EFFICENT SMALL HOMES.
JOSH ROGERS WITH HISTORIC MACON SAYS THEY WILL HOST A PUBLIC SEMINAR TOMORROW NIGHT AT THE COX CAPITOL THEATER... SO PEOPLE CAN TAKE PART IN DESIGNING THEIR NEXT SMALL HOMES."It's a new movement in architecture instead of having to rely completely on professionals to tell you how you need to live and what your space needs to look like, you can actually let people come in, give you the ideas about how they want to use space and then have the architect respond to those needs."     ROGERS SAYS CREDIT CARD SIZES ELECTRONIC DEVICES WILL ALLOW PEOPLE WHO ATTEND THE DESIGN SEMINAR TO VOTE IN REAL TIME FOR THE FEATURES THEY'D MOST LIKE TO SEE IN A NEW HOME.     THE EVENT WILL BE TOMORROW AT SIX P.M. AT THE COX CAPITOL THEATER.

THE CHAIRMEN FOR BOTH BIBB AND MONROE SAY IF THE LINE IS DRAWN IN THEIR FAVOR... IT WOULD HELP THE PEOPLE OF THEIR COUNTIES.
James Vaughn, Monroe Chairman: "If they all know exactly which jurisdiction they're in, they know which rules to go by, and right now that's very uncertain in a large area."
Sam Hart, Bibb Chairman: "It means that we go on and there's no disturbance at all. In terms of our schools, in terms of our fire protection, in terms of any of the kinds of things that we're currently doing. So if that happens, we continue to function as we currently are."
THE HEARING WRAPPED UP AROUND SEVEN THIRTY... WITH MONROE ASKING TO ADOPT SCARBOROUGH'S SURVEY... AND BIBB COUNTY SAYING THE SURVEY IS COMPLETELY WRONG.
