"Macon Judicial Circuit Chief Superior Court Judge Martha Christian would not comment on any particular case, citing ethics guidelines. But Christian says under the law... everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty and that a judge can't set a bond to punish someone.

Police Lieutenant Carl Fletcher says detectives called the case against Daniel's accused killers pretty strong. He says police closed the case, since arrests were made. But Bibb ADA Nancy Malcor says they dropped the case last November due to lack of evidence. Police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet says key witnesses changed their minds...and woudl not cooperate."
