SOME IN BIBB COUNTY SAY THEY'RE ENCOURAGED BY THE IDEAS OF NEW SUPERINTENDENT ROMAIN DALLEMAND.
THIS AFTERNOON...BEFORE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS AND DOZENS OF EDUCATORS... DALLEMAND UNVEILED WHAT HE CALLS HIS *ENTRY PLAN.*
LAUREN DISPIRITO SHOWS YOU DALLEMAND'S TIMELINE FOR MAKING CHANGES AND WHAT HE SAYS HE'LL FOCUS ON FIRST.
Nats Dallemand

NEW SUPERINTENDENT ROMAIN DALLEMAND SHARED IDEAS BIBB TEACHER OF THE YEAR JADUN (juh-don) MCCARTHY SAYS ULTIMATELY TRICKLE DOWN TO HOW HE DOES HIS JOB.

SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER SUSAN MIDDLETON SAYS THAT COULD HELP STREAMLINE THE DISTRICT'S WORK.

Susan Middleton, Bibb County Board of Education: "what we're going to be hearing him describe is some fundamental change which may be as simple as this business of duplication of processes that you have to talk to five or six different people to get answers about a particular issue."

DALLEMAND SAYS AN OUTSIDE EDUCATIONAL AUDIT... COULD GIVE HIM A NEEDED THIRD-PARTY OPINION ON WHERE SCHOOLS STAND. HE ALSO PROPOSED A WELCOME CENTER.

"One stop where someone can go and receive all the information there is to receive about the school district."

GRAPHIC (TIMELINE)
HE WANTS TO SPEND THE REST OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR MEETING WITH PEOPLE BOTH INSIDE AND OUT OF THE DISTRICT.

MARKETING PROGRAMS IN THE BIBB COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ARE NOW INDUSTRY CERTIFIED.
BEING GRANTED THE CERTIFICATION TAKES MORE THAN A YEAR OF PREPPING AND REVIEWS.
SOME STUDENTS AT WESTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL TAKE A MARKETING CLASS... THAT THEY SAY GIVES THEM REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE.
AS PART OF THE COURSE....STUDENTS WORK AT THE WESTSIDE SCHOOL STORE HANDLING SALES.
THEY'RE ALSO LEARNING HOW TO CREATE ADVERTISEMENTS THAT THEY MIGHT USE IN A JOB AFTER GRADUATION.
THEY'RE THE FIRST OF MANY STUDENTS TO TAKE PART IN THE CERTIFIED PROGRAM.
Brian Bembridge, Bibb County: "I think it's important because not only is it helping us, it's helping the kids in the future, later on, coming down from middle school. It shows that the teachers are doing their job, showing that we are getting the information needed to be certified."
TO BE CERTIFIED... PROGRAMS MUST HAVE LOCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEES AND ACTIVE MARKETING MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP ORGANIZATIONS FOR STUDENTS.

A GRAND JURY INDICTED A JONES COUNTY DAYCARE OWNER ARRESTED LAST JUNE AFTER SOMEONE SAW 4 OF HER STUDENTS WALKING ALONG HIGHWAY 49.
LAVERNE STUBBS FACES FOUR MISDEMEANOR COUNTS OF RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT.
AND TWO FELONY COUNTS OF MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS... ACCORDING TO DISTRICT ATTORNEY FRED BRIGHT.
BRIGHT SAYS THE FELONY CHARGES WERE ADDED BECAUSE STUBBS ALLEGEDLY LIED TO A STATE EDUCATION OFFICIAL ABOUT BEING OVER CAPACITY AT HER KIDS UNIVERSITY DAYCARE.
HE SAYS.... SHE'S ALSO ACCUSED OF LYING TO A JONES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTY... WHEN ASKED IF THE STUDENTS WERE HERS. OFFICIALS SAY AT THE TIME OF THE ARREST... STUBBS TOLD THEM A STATE INSPECTION AGENCY HAD DROPPED IN ON HER DAYCARE.
THEY SAY SHE KNEW SHE WAS OVER CAPACITY... AND TOLD THE 4 KIDS TO HIDE BEHIND A SHED...  AND THEN WALK HOME.
BRIGHT SAYS STUBBS' ARRAIGNMENT HAS NOT YET BEEN SCHEDULED.

FRED BRIGHT ALSO SAID A SCHOOL BUS DRIVER WILL NOT FACE CHARGES AFTER HITTING AND KILLING A 14-YEAR-OLD STUDENT.
IT'S BEEN ONE YEAR SINCE 63-YEAR-OLD WAYNE GRAHAM'S BUS HIT AND KILLED JONES COUNTY TEEN COURTNEY WHITE AS SHE RAN TO CATCH HIS BUS.
BRIGHT SAYS TESTS SHOWED GRAHAM HAD TWO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS IN HIS SYSTEM AT THE TIME... BUT EXPERTS SAID THE DRUGS WOULD NOT HAVE AFFECTED HIS DRIVING.
BRIGHT SAYS THE GRAND JURY DECIDED GRAHAM WAS NOT AT FAULT.

THIS WEEK....THE GRAND JURY ALSO ACCUSED TWO GRAY MEN OF MURDERING AN ELDERLY BARBER IN 2008.
21-YEAR-OLD TERRENCE BURNEY AND 22-YEAR-OLD TYRONE RICHARDSON ARE EACH CHARGED WITH MURDER.. FELONY MURDER AND ARMED ROBBERY... ACCORDING TO A NEWS RELEASE FROM SHERIFF BUTCH REECE.
THEY'RE ACCUSED OF KILLING 74-YEAR-OLD THOMAS STANFORD GRIFFIS... KNOWN AS "GRIFF..." IN HIS BARBERSHOP ON RAILROAD AVENUE ON JULY 25, 2008.
THIS WEEK....THE GRAND JURY ALSO RE-INDICTED BURNEY AND RICHARDSON ON CHARGES OF MURDERING 76-YEAR-OLD JOSEPH KITCHENS AT HIS HUNGERFORD ROAD HOME ON OCTOBER 17, 2008.
REECE SAYS THE TWO MEN DUCT-TAPED KITCHENS TO A CHAIR AND LEFT HIM THERE TO DIE.
THEY FACE A NUMBER OF CHARGES INCLUDING FELONY MURDER... ARMED ROBBERY AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT IN THAT CASE.
REECE SAYS BOTH MEN ARE IN THE JONES COUNTY JAIL.

GOVERNOR NATHAN DEAL WILL DECIDE WHETHER TO SUSPEND WARNER ROBINS COUNCIL MEMBER JOHN WILLIAMS.
A REVIEW PANEL MADE A RECOMMENDATION AFTER A HEARING WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IN ATLANTA....BUT IT WON'T BE PUBLIC UNTIL DEAL MAKES HIS RULING.
THE THREE MEMBER PANEL IS CHARGED WITH HEARING ARGUMENTS ON WHETHER A FELONY INDICTMENT AGAINST WILLIAMS WARRANTS SUSPENSION FROM THE COUNCIL.
HE'S ACCUSED OF MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS TO POLICE...ACCUSING A WOMAN OF STEALING HIS CITY ISSUED CELL PHONE.
WILLIAMS ATTORNEY CHARLES COX TOLD THE COMMITTEE....... WILLIAMS SHOULD NOT BE SUSPENDED BECAUSE THE CHARGE DOESN'T INVOLVE HIS COUNCIL DUTIES.
OLENS SAID THERE IS NO DEADLINE FOR DEAL TO MAKE A DECISION.
