GOOD EVENING AND THANKS FOR JOINING US... I'M BOFTA YIMAM.
THIS IS EYEWITNESS NEWS AT 11.
THE SUPERBOWL DIDN'T GO BY WITHOUT SOME UPSET FANS-- AND ITS NOT BECAUSE THEY'RE TEAM MAY HAVE LOST.

IT APPEARS THAT... COWBOYS STADIUM WAS NOT FULLY PREPARED FOR THE SUPER BOWL CROWD.
TEMPORARY SEATS WERE STILL BEING INSTALLED IN THE TOP LEVEL OF THE STADIUM'S WEST END... AS FANS FILED INTO THE BUILDING.
THE NFL RELOCATED 850 TICKET HOLDERS... AND WILL REFUND 450 OTHERS... WHO COULD NOT BE ACCOMMODATED.
THOSE FANS WILL GET A REFUND OF 27-HUNDRED DOLLARS... THAT'S TRIPLE THE COST OF THE TICKET'S FACE VALUE.
THE NFL SAYS THE INCOMPLETE INSTALLATION OF TEMPORARY SEATS... MADE THE SEATS UNUSABLE.
SOME DISPLACED FANS LOOKING FORWARD TO THE GAME--- WERE JUST PLAIN ANGRY.

"WE CANT SEE THE GAME, THE'VE SHUTTLED US INTO THIS AREA, i CANT SEE A POSITIVE OUTCOME."
"THEY'RE TELLING US WE HAVE AN OPTION TO BE...TO WALK ABOUT THE STADIUM OR STAY IN THIS AREA WHERE YOU CANNOT SEE THE FIELD."
"THIS ISNT JUST PURCHASED OFF THE STREET, THEY'RE TREATING SEASON TICKET HOLDERS THIS WAY."

THE N-F-L SAYS THEY PLAN TO DO A FULL REVIEW OF THE MATTER... AND REGRET ANY INCONVENIENCE IT MAY HAVE CAUSED.

HANCOCK COUNTY STUDENTS WILL NOT HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW... DUE TO A BOILED WATER ADVISORY
THAT'S ACCORDING TO ERNEST WARREN... THE COUNTY'S TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR.
PEOPLE IN SPARTA ARE BEING WARNED... TO BOIL THEIR WATER DUE TO HIGH TURBIDITY LEVELS.
A NEWS RELEASE SAYS THOSE HIGH LEVELS... INCREASE THE CHANCE... THAT THE WATER COULD HAVE DISEASE-CAUSING ORGANISMS.
THEY SAY PEOPLE SHOULD BOIL THEIR WATER... LET IT STAND FOR ONE MINUTE AND THEN ALLOW IT TO COOL BEFORE USING IT--- OR YOU CAN USE BOTTLED WATER.
THE CITY SAYS BOILED OR BOTTLED WATER.... SHOULD BE USED FOR DRINKING... MAKING ICE... BRUSHING TEETH... WASHING DISHES... AND FOOD PREP.
THEY EXPECT THE PROBLEM TO BE FIXED WITHIN 24 HOURS.

FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT THE CITY OF SPARTA... AT 706-444-5753.... AGAIN THAT'S 706-444-5753.

A HANCOCK COUNTY NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION SAYS IT'S STARTED CONSTRUCTION ON A NEW FIREHOUSE... BUT NEEDS MORE MONEY TO FINISH IT.
THE HOLIDAY SHORES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION SAYS THE COUNTY CAN'T AFFORD THE PROJECT... SO THE GROUP IS RAISING THE MONEY ITSELF.
VANESSA RUFFES FOUND OUT WHY THE NEW BUILDING IS NEEDED... AND HOW THE ORGANIZATION PLANS TO RAISE THE 25 THOUSAND ADDITIONAL DOLLARS.

Nats

DONNIE RAGAN IS A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER BASED AT HANCOCK COUNTY'S STATION NUMBER 5... WHICH SERVES THE HOLIDAY SHORES AREA NEAR LAKE SINCLAIR...

Ragan "This is a volunteer fire department... we have 12 volunteers."

RAGAN SAYS THE DEPARTMENT DOESN'T JUST VOLUNTEER ITS EFFORTS IN PUTTING OUT FIRES... LATELY... IT'S VOLUNTEERED TIME -- RAISING MONEY TO BUILD A NEW FIREHOUSE... SINCE THE COUNTY CAN'T AFFORD TO BUILD ONE ITSELF.

THE HOLIDAY SHORES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION PARTIALLY BUILT THIS FIREHOUSE NEXT DOOR TO THE OLDER AND SMALL ONE... BUT RAN OUT OF MONEY TO FINISH IT.

NATS, truck

THIS 15 HUNDRED GALLON TANKER IS WHAT THE STATION USES TO PUT OUT FIRES... AND THE REASON RAGAN SAYS THEY'RE WORKING QUICKLY TO FINISH THE NEW BUILDING.

HE SAYS 15 HUNDRED GALLONS IS NOT NEARLY ENOUGH WATER -- BUT IN ORDER TO UPGRADE TO A 25 HUNDRED GALLON TANKER... THEY NEED A BIGGER FIREHOUSE. AFTER THAT... HE SAYS... THEY CAN APPLY FOR GRANTS THROUGH THE COUNTY TO PURCHASE THE NEW TRUCK.

AS IT STANDS NOW... HE SAYS THEY USUALLY HAVE TO CALL FOR BACK UP.

Ragan "We have to call on Sparta to come from there with equipment, or East Lake

... WHICH ARE BOTH AT LEAST FIFTEEN MINUTES AWAY... TOO MUCH TIME SAY SOME HOMEOWNERS IN THE AREA...

Don Bauchom "can't rely..."

RAGAN AGREES AND SAYS HOMEOWNERS IN THE AREA ARE BEST SERVED IF THE STATION CLOSEST TO THEM IS SELF-SUFFICIENT.

"Every minute and every second counts..."
