     RIGHT NOW... THE BIBB COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM IS WELCOMING ITS NEW LEADER.
      THIS COMES NEARLY A YEAR AFTER FORMER SUPERINTENDENT SHARON PATTERSON LEFT WHILE UNDER A STATE ETHICS INVESTIGATION.
      THE WELCOME EVENT FOR NEW SUPERINTENDENT ROMAIN DALLEMAND JUST GOT STARTED AT CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL.
       THE SCHOOL BOARD PICKED DALLEMAND IN NOVEMBER....AND AGREED ON A CONTRACT LAST MONTH.
       THEY AGREED TO PAY HIM A BASE SALARY OF 198 THOUSAND DOLLARS... PLUS BENEFITS.

     TODAY'S WELCOME CEREMONY WAS SPONSORED BY MIDSOUTH FEDERAL CREDIT UNION.
      THEY DONATED ABOUT FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THE EVENT.
       VICE PRESIDENT DEANN DENT SAYS THEIR BUDGET CONTAINS MONEY TO SPONSOR EVENTS LIKE THIS ONE.
        SHE SAYS STAYING INVOLVED WITH EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT TO THE CREDIT UNION... AND GOES BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL MISSION.
Deann Dent, VP of Credit Union Development:  "Midsouth was founded by two principals, so our credit union's based on the educational system.  It was that way for many many years and it still is the foundation of Midsouth and it's important for us to support education.
      MIDSOUTH COMMUNITY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION WAS ORIGINALLY CHARTERED AS BIBB TEACHERS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION.
      IT HAS MORE THAN 35 THOUSAND MEMBERS.


TWO SUSPECTS CHARGED WITH THE MURDER OF A CENTREVILLE WOMAN... APPEARED IN COURT THIS AFTERNOON.
DURING A COMMITMENT HEARING... LIEUTENANT PAUL EDWARDS TOLD THE JUDGE... THAT NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD ALEXANDRIA SCOTT ADMITTED TO SHOOTING AND KILLING KIMBERLY MCKENZIE.
BUT AS AMY AUBERT TELLS YOU... THE INVESTIGATING OFFICER SAYS...THEY'RE STILL LOOKING AT ALL ANGLES.

Officer: "That I shot her? She admitted that she was the one who did the shooting?"
Lt. Edwards: "She admitted that she was the one who held the gun in her hand when she pulled the trigger."


IN A COMMITMENT HEARING MONDAY AFTERNOON... LIETENANT PAUL EDWARDS TOLD THE MAGISTRATE JUDGE THAT NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD ALEXANDRIA SCOTT... ADMITTED HER ROLE IN THE MURDER OF THIRTY-EIGHT-YEAR-OLD KIMBERLY MCKENZIE.


Lieutenant Edwards: "She did admit that she shot and killed the deceased, Kimberly Mckenzie."


EDWARDS SAYS... THAT'S AFTER SHE LED CENTERVILLE POLICE TO A FIELD IN SOUTH BIBB COUNTY... SUNDAY AFTERNOON... WHERE MCKENZIE'S BODY WAS FOUND.


BUT EVEN WITH SCOTT'S STATEMENT... EDWARDS SAYS THERE'S STILL UNANSWERED QUESTIONS.


Lieutenant Edwards: "We're trying to establish a current and correct timeline of the actual homicide."


Nats, Judge: "You've been charged with murder?"
Grable: "Yes sir."


TWENTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD JUSTIN GRABLE IS ALSO BEING CHARGED WITH FELONY MURDER ... BUT CHOSE TO WAIVE HIS COMMITMENT HEARING.


Lt. Edwards: "It's not uncommon for two people charged with an offense such as this; one may want, one may not."


BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE... CENTREVILLE POLICE... AND WARNER ROBINS POLICE DEPARTMENT... ARE ALL WORKING TOGETHER ... AND LIEUTENANT EDWARDS SAYS... THEY'RE LOOKING INTO ALL LEADS.

>> THE TWO SUSPECTS ARE BEING HELD IN THE BIBB COUNTY JAIL UNTIL THEY APPEAR IN A SUPERIOR COURT.
THAT COURT DATE HAS NOT YET BEEN SET.


     THREE EXECUTIVES OF THE AMERICAN SHINGLE COMPANY NOW FACE MORE CHARGES FROM MACON POLICE.
     THAT'S ACCORDING TO A POLICE NEWS RELEASE.
     THE RELEASE SAYS POLICE TOOK OUT WARRANTS FOR RICHARD STEFFY ....FRANK PUREBER...AND CARLTON DEWAYNE DUNKO....FOR 15 COUNTS EACH OF THEFT BY CONVERSION.
     THEY'RE ACCUSED OF TAKING PAYMENTS FROM 15 PEOPLE FOR NEW ROOFS...BUT NOT DELIVERING.
     LAST WEEK....THE BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF FILED CHARGES AGAINST THE THREE...ON 30 MORE CASES.
     THE THREE MEN HAVE ATLANTA ADDRESSES...AND SO FAR HAVE NOT BEEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.
     AMERICAN SHINGLE FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY LAST SUMMER...AFTER HUNDREDS OF GEORGIANS AND PEOPLE IN OTHER STATE CLAIMED THEY PAID FOR WORK...THAT WAS NEVER DONE.


A DUBLIN TRACTOR-PARTS ASSEMBLY PLANT WILL CLOSE IN THE NEXT TWO MONTHS, AND PUT ABOUT 100 PEOPLE OUT OF WORK.
ITS PARENT COMPANY....C-N-H...ANNOUNCED THE CLOSING BY NEWS RELEASE MONDAY. 
THEY SAID THE PLANT ON FIRETOWER ROAD WOULD CLOSE SOMETIME IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THIS YEAR.
THE COMPANY SAID IT'S CLOSING THE PLANT TO CUT COSTS AND THAT THE CLOSING DOES NOT REFLECT ON THE PLANT'S PERFORMANCE OR ITS EMPLOYEES.
COMPANY SPOKESMEN DID NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS FROM 13WMAZ.


      THE STATE HOUSE HAS REJECTED AN ATTEMPT BY THE SENATE TO OVERRIDE A VETO AND CHANGE GEORGIA'S BUDGET PROCESS.
      HOUSE SPEAKER DAVID RALSTON SENT THE OVERRIDE TO THE RULES COMMITTEE.
     THAT MEANS IT PROBABLY WON'T GET A FLOOR VOTE.
      LAST WEEK... RALSTON SAID HE SUPPORTS ZERO BASED BUDGETING.
      BUT HE SAYS HE'D RATHER START FRESH WITH A NEW BILL THIS YEAR... RATHER THAN OVERRIDING THE VETO ISSUED LAST YEAR BY GOVERNOR SONNY PERDUE.
    ZERO-BASED BUDGETING WOULD REQUIRE CERTAIN STATE AGENCIES TO JUSTIFY THEIR SPENDING EACH YEAR. 
     UNDER THE CURRENT SYSTEM... DEPARTMENT HEADS ARE ONLY REQUIRED TO EXPLAIN WHY THEY NEED BUDGET INCREASES. 


      A BILL BEFORE THE STATE'S GENERAL ASSEMBLY WOULD GIVE GEORGIA TAXPAYERS A BREAK FROM THE GOVERNMENT IF THEY WERE LATE PAYING.
      THE BILL WOULD ALLOW DELINQUENT TAXPAYERS TO SETTLE DEBTS OWED BETWEEN 1991 AND 2009 WITHOUT PENALTIES OR INTEREST WITHIN A TEN-MONTH WINDOW.
      IT WOULDN'T APPLY TO TAXPAYERS WHO HAVE BEEN ACCUSED OF TAX FRAUD.
      REPRESENTATIVE KEITH HEARD OF ATHENS SAYS SUCH AN AMNESTY HASN'T BEEN OFFERED IN GEORGIA FOR 20 YEARS... AND LAST TIME IT WAS OFFERED... THE STATE NETTED MORE THAN 51 MILLION DOLLARS.

THE ORGANIZATION PURCHASED THE BUILDING ON FRIDAY..

AS PART OF THEIR DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION.. NEWTOWN MACON PURCHASED THE OLD CAPRICORN RECORDING STUDIO... AND THE BUILDING NEXT DOOR.
THE GOAL... TO BRING NEW LIFE TO THE OLD SPACE.
Hal Baskin: "Potentially have a working studio in the building, possibly loft apartments and additional museum and retail type space on the ground level"
NEWTOWN PAID $180 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THE BUILDING.. FUNDED THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PEYTON ANDERSON FOUNDATION.
THE COST FOR ALL RENOVATIONS IS EXPECTED TO BE AROUND ONE AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS.
THEY PLAN TO RAISE FUNDS...AND LOOK FOR GRANTS...TO PAY FOR THE WORK.
Hal Baksin:"We would hopes that's in the next few years we expect to have the building stabilized with the roof in the next 30 days."
THE OLD STUDIO MAY STILL BE IN DARK FOR NOW.....
BUT BASKIN HOPES A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GEORGIA MUSIC HALL OF FAME CAN HELP ATTRACT VISITORS.
HE HE SAYS THE STUDIO'S LOCATION COULD SERVE AS AN ADDED ATTRACTION TO THE MUSEUM.
