OUR TOP STORY AT ELEVEN... TWO PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED IN THE MURDER OF CENTERVILLE WOMAN KIMBERLY MCKENZIE.
INVESTIGATORS FOUND MCKENZIES BODY IN A FIELD IN BIBB COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON... FOUR DAYS AFTER SHE WENT MISSING IN HOUSTON COUNTY.

THE BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS 19-YEAR-OLD ALEXANDRIA RENEE SCOTT... AND 21-YEAR-OLD JUSTIN TERRELL GRABLE... BOTH OF MACON... ARE EACH CHARGED WITH FELONY MURDER.
THEY'RE BEING HELD AT THE BIBB COUNTY JAIL... WITHOUT BOND.


AT A NEWS CONFERENCE TONIGHT IN CENTERVILLE... HOUSTON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY GEORGE HARTWIG SAID THEY'RE INVESTIGATING WHETHER MCKENZIE WAS KILLED AFTER CAR-JACKING.
HARTWIG SAYS THEY'RE TRYING TO LEARN IF THE SUSPECTS KNEW MCKENZIE.

"LAW ENFORCEMENT IS LOOKING AT ALL SENARIOS TO SEE IF THERE IS A CONNECTION BETWEEN HER AND THE SUSPECTS. BUT AT THIS POINT IN TIME YOU KNOW I THINK THE CONSENSUS IS JUST ON WHAT WE DO KNOW THAT THIS WOULD BE MORE IN LINE WITH A RANDOM TYPE CRIME THAT OCCURED ON THE STREET WHERE SHE WAS RANDOMLY SELECTED."


INVESTIGATORS SAY IT APPEARS MCKENZIE WAS ABDUCTED IN HOUSTON COUNTY AND LATER KILLED IN BIBB COUNTY.
CLUES ABOUT HER DEATH MAY CENTER AROUND WHAT HER SISTER HEARD WEDNESDAY NIGHT... WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH HER.

"SHE IMMEDIATELY WAS LIKE 'HEY WHAT'S GOING ON. IT'S NOT THAT SERIOUS. YOU CAN HAVE THE CAR. THEN HER PHONE DROPPED."

MACON POLICE FOUND MCKENZIE'S CAR NEAR EISENHOWER PARKWAY LATER THAT NIGHT...

AND SUNDAY AFTERNOON... BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES DISCOVERED HER BODY IN A FIELD... AN EIGHTH OF A MILE DOWN A DIRT DRIVEWAY OFF FEAGIN ROAD.

DEPUTY DAVID DAVIS "CENTERVILLE AS WELL AS WARNER ROBINS POLICE HAD BEEN WORKING IT AS A MISSING PERSONS CASE SINCE IT HAPPENED."

CHIEF DEPUTY DAVID DAVIS SAYS NOW... THEY'RE LOOKING AT IT AS A HOMICIDE... CORONER LEON JONES SAYS IT APPEARS MCKENZIE DIED FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND.

DAVIS SAYS A SERIES OF TIPS AND LEADS BROUGHT INVESTIGATORS TO THE PRIVATELY-OWNED FIELD NEAR THE BIBB AND HOUSTON COUNTY LINES... AND HE SAYS THE INFORMATION KEEPS COMING.

"WE'RE CONTINUING TO FOLLOW LEADS IN THIS INCIDENT AND THERE MAY BE SOME MORE ARRESTS AS WE GO FORWARD."

ONE WOMAN WHO LIVES NEAR THE FEAGIN ROAD SITE SAYS SHE KNEW MCKENZIE THROUGH MCKENZIE'S OLD JOB... AND IS KEEPING THE FAMILY IN HER PRAYERS.

"I JUST WENT TO PIECES. IT'S KILLING ME BECAUSE I HAVE DAUGHTERS AND OH, I JUST COULDN'T IMAGINE."

MEANWHILE... INVESTIGATORS SAY THE PIECES ARE SLOWLY COMING TOGETHER FOR A MISSING PERSON'S CASE THAT HAS QUICKLY EVOLVED.

MCKENZIE'S FAMILY SAYS SHE LEAVES BEHIND A TEENAGE SON.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS HAVE NOT BEEN MADE.

FORMER BIBB COUNTY COMMISSIONER... ENTREPRENEUR AND ACTIVIST ALBERT BILLINGSLEA HAS DIED.

BIBB COUNTY CORONER LEON JONES SAYS BILLINGSLEA PASSED AWAY OF NATURAL CAUSES THIS MORNING.
BILLINGSLEA GREW UP IN PLEASANT HILL... AND IN 1980... BECAME ONE OF THE COUNTY'S FIRST BLACK COMMISSIONERS.
HE HAD BEEN A LOCAL N-DOUBLE A-C-P CHAPTER PRESIDENT... AND SERVED ON THE MACON WATER AUTHORITY AND THE MACON-BIBB PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION.
BILLINGSLEA STARTED A REAL-ESTATE COMPANY... AND WAS KNOWN TO MANY AS A SUCCESSFUL BUILDER.
LAST YEAR, THE MACON N-DOUBLE A-C-P HONORED HIM AS CO-WINNER OF THEIR TOP AWARD... THE EARL T. SHINHOSTER (SHIN-HOE-STER) FREEDOM FUND AWARD.
COUNTY CHAIRMAN SAM HART SAYS BILLINGSLEA WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR THE WORK HE DID FOR OTHERS.

THE MACON-BIBB FIRE DEPARTMENT IS INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF A FIRE THAT DESTROYED THE J AND H AUTO SHOP ON HOUSTON ROAD IN MACON THIS AFTERNOON.

DONNIE MERCER WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAYS THEY RECEIVED A CALL ABOUT THE FIRE SHORTLY AFTER FIVE THIRTY THIS EVENING.

HE SAYS IT TOOK CREWS ABOUT THE 30 MINUTES TO CONTROL THE FLAMES.

MERCER SAYS NO ONE WAS INSIDE THE BUILDING AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE.

HE SAYS NO ONE WAS INJURED.


A LIZELLA MAN IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION TONIGHT... AFTER HIS MOTORCYCLE WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND AROUND 6-45 TONIGHT.
THAT'S ACCORDING TO A NEWS RELEASE FROM THE BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE.
39 YEAR-OLD THOMAS CHRISTOPHER CARMICHAEL OF LIZELLA... WAS DRIVING A 1981 HARLEY DAVIDSON ON HARTLEY BRIDGE ROAD WHEN HIS MOTORCYCLE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET.
ACCORDING TO THE RELEASE, THAT'S WHEN A 1993 HONDA ACCORD... DRIVEN BY A 16-YEAR OLD FROM MACON... REAR ENDED CARMICHAEL'S MOTORCYCLE.
THE RELEASE SAYS CARMICHAEL WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND IS LISTED IN CRITICAL CONDITION.

THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS THE ACCIDENT IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION.

THE BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS THIRTY-EIGHT YEAR OLD MARGARET ANGELA HAVER DIED AT THE MEDICAL CENTER OF CENTRAL GEORGIA.
THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED NEAR THOMASTON AND TUCKER ROADS AROUND TEN O'CLOCK SATURDAY MORNING.
DEPUTIES SAY HAVER WAS DRIVING... WHEN SHE LOST CONTROL OF HER CAR AND HIT A TREE.

NO ONE ELSE WAS HURT IN THE ACCIDENT.
THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE IS INVESTIGATING WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED HAVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF HER CAR.

MACON POLICE SAY THEY CAUGHT A BURGLARY SUSPECT SATURDAY AFTERNOON AFTER HE BROKE INTO A HOME AT 2-4-6-2 NAPIER AVENUE.

A NEWS RELEASE SAYS OFFICERS ARRIVED AT THE HOUSE AND ARRESTED 40-YEAR-OLD KENNETH WILSON OF BLACKMON AVENUE.
ACCORDING TO THE RELEASE.... WHEN POLICE ARRIVED AT THE HOME.... WILSON WAS WALKING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND CARRYING SEVERAL STOLEN ITEMS.

NEW-TOWN MACON PRESIDENT MIKE FORD SAYS FRIDAY... THEY BOUGHT THE PROPERTY FROM ATLANTIC SOUTHERN BANK... FOR ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.
FORD SAYS THEY USED A 300 THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT FROM THE PEYTON ANDERSON FOUNDATION.
THEY PLAN TO REVIVE OLD RECORDING STUDIOS AND CREATE LOFT APARTMENTS.
HE ALSO HOPES TO ADD A MUSEUM.
FORD SAYS THEY'LL USE REMAINING GRANT MONEY TO FIX UP THE BUILDING... AND FUND-RAISE OVER NEXT TWO TO THREE YEARS.
