DUNWOODY... ATHENS... WOODSTOCK... AND MACON... LAiD OUT PLANS TO GET THE ATTRACTION IN THEIR CITIES.
MEMBERS OF THE GEORGIA MUSIC HALL OF FAME AUTHORITY BOARD ARE SCHEDULED TO RANK THE FOUR PRESENTATIONS BY THE END OF TUESDAY.
BOFTA YIMAM SAT IN ON THEIR PRESENTATIONS... AND TELLS YOU WHY EACH CITY SAYS THEY'RE THE BEST PICK.

DUNWOODY MUSIC CONSERVANCY CHAIRMAN DANNY ROSS  SAYS THEY WOULD PLACE THE HALL AT THE PERIMETER MALL FOR THREE YEARS.. WITH PLANS TO BUILD THE SPRUILL CENTER FOR THE ARTS IN 20-15.
THEY SAID THE BUSTLING LOCATION... TAPS INTO ATLANTA'S POPULATION.. AND MALL FOOT TRAFFIC.

THE ATHENS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUNCTION PITCHED A PARTNERSHIP WITH U-G-A... TO CREATE A WORLD CLASS COLLECTION LIBRARY.  THEY PLAN TO ARCHIVE AND DIGITIZE ARTIFACTS THERE... WITH ROTATING EXHIBITS AT MUSEUMS AROUND GEORGIA.

WOODSTOCK'S MAYOR SAYS THEY WOULD CAPITALIZE ON THEIR NAME... LOCATION NEAR ATLANTA... AND PARTNER WITH SCHOOLS...  TO PROMOTE MUSIC EDUCATION.
THEY WOULD PLACE THE MUSEUM DOWNTOWN AND RENOVATE A LARGE BUILDING... FOR NEARLY A MILLION DOLLARS.
SO FAR... THE WOODSTOCK TEAM SAYS THEY HAVE A COMMITMENT OF NEARLY 850-THOUSAND... FOR FIVE YEARS.

MACON'S HALLS OF FAME CHAIRMAN MIKE DYER SAYS MACON NEEDS PROPER FUNDING TO SUCCEED... WHICH DIDN'T HAPPEN UNDER THE STATE.
HE SAYS THE NEW GROUP WOULD MANAGE THE HALL ... WITH SOME RENOVATIONS... A DESIGNATED OUTREACH STAFF... AND A FOCUS ON EDUCATION.
DYER SAYS THEY HAVE COMMITMENTS FOR ONE-POINT-EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS.

DYER SAYS THEY AIM TO BE SELF-SUSTAINING WITHIN FIVE YEARS.
IF THE BOARD ISN'T SATISFIED... THEY COULD REOPEN THE BIDDING PROCESS.


     A DODGE COUNTY WOMAN RELEASED A YEAR EARLY...AFTER BEING CONVICTED OF KILLING AN INFANT... WILL REMAIN FREE FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER SIX WEEKS.
     THAT'S ACCORDING TO TIM VAUGHN...DISTRICT ATTORNEY FOR THE OCONEE JUDICIAL DISTRICT.
     IN 2009....AMY ROGERS JONES WAS CONVICTED OF KILLING A THREE-MONTH-OLD GIRL THAT SHE WAS BABY SITTING. INVESTIGATORS CALLED IT A SHAKEN-BABY CASE.
     BUT A CLERICAL ERROR BY THE DODGE SHERIFF'S OFFICE...SET HER FREE A YEAR AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.
     VAUGHN SAYS HE FILED A MOTION ASKING A JUDGE TO SEND JONES BACK TO PRISON.
     TODAY HE SAID...JUDGE SARAH WALL SET A HEARING DATE ON HIS MOTION FOR MARCH 1ST.
     HE SAYS THE JUDGE'S LETTER SAID JONES SHOULD GET AT LEAST 30 DAYS NOTICE ON THE HEARING.


     SEVEN CORRECTIONS OFFICERS AT A MACON COUNTY PRISON ARE SUSPENDED WITH PAY WHILE THE G-B-I INVESTIGATES AN INCIDENT LAST MONTH.
     THAT'S ACCORDING TO A NEWS RELEASE FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS...WHICH DOESN'T SAY WHAT THE GUARDS ARE ACCUSED OF.
    EARLIER THIS MONTH THE STATE SAID IT WOULD INVESTIGATE ALLEGED ABUSE AT SEVERAL PRISONS INCLUDING MACON STATE PRISON IN OGLETHORPE.
     THOSE PRISONS WENT ON LOCKDOWN AFTER  INMATES SAID THEY WOULD PROTEST FOR BETTER LIVING AND WORKING CONDITIONS.


SEVERAL GROUPS PLAN TO PUSH FOR A SMOKE-FREE ORDINANCE IN MACON.
COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKS PARTNERED WITH THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY AND AMERICANS FOR NONSMOKERS RIGHTS... TO TALK ABOUT THE  EFFECTS OF SECOND-HAND SMOKE AND WAYS TO KEEP EVEYONE HEALTHY.
       MANY PUBLIC HEALTH WORKERS AND THREE MACON CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS ATTENDED.
THE GROUP PLANS TO SEND OUT SURVEYS TO PEOPLE AND GET FEEDBACK FROM THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY IN THE NEX T FEW WEEKS.
