MONROE COUNTY DEPUTIES FOUND TWO WOMEN SHOT AND KILLED... AND ONE MAN INJURED... AT THEIR HOME ON DEBRA DRIVE JUST AFTER 10-40 THIS MORNING.

THAT'S OFF HIGHWAY 74... NEAR THE BIBB COUNTY AND MONROE COUNTY LINE.
SHERIFF JOHN BITTICK SAYS A RELATIVE STOPPED BY THE HOME AND FOUND 43-YEAR-OLD ALAYNA PRUITT.... AND HER MOTHER... SHERRY PRICE... DEAD.
ALYANA'S HUSBAND... 52-YEAR-OLD RON PRUITT ALSO SUFFERED A GUNSHOT WOUND... AND WAS FOUND UNRESPONSIVE.
BITTICK SAYS RON PRUITT IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION.
HE SAYS INVESTIGATORS SPENT THE DAY FOLLOWING LEADS... AND INTERVIEWING FAMILY MEMBERS.
HE SAYS THEY'RE STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS IN THE SHOOTINGS.

"YOU'RE ALWAYS CONCERNED WHEN YOU SEE SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENING AND CERTAINLY I WAS CONCERNED INITIALLY ON WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED, LIKE I SAID EARLIER WE'RE JUST GONNA HAVE TO WAIT AND LET IT PLAY OUT."

THE GROUPS ANNOUNCED THE UPCOMING EVENTS PLANNED FOR THE HOLIDAY.
MACON CITY COUNCILWOMAN ELAINE LUCAS SAYS THEIR SCHEDULED CEREMONIES WILL CELEBRATE AND HIGHLIGHT DOCTOR KING'S WORK.
COMMISSION MEMBER JOHN DUNAWAY SAYS HE HOPES THE EVENTS WILL BRING PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY CLOSER TOGETHER.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS BROUGHT UP TOPICS SUCH AS PUBLIC EDUCATION FUNDING... COMMUNITY VIOLENCE... AND RACIAL ISSUES.
SENATOR STATON SAYS THAT PROTECTING THE CITIES YOUTH... IS A TOP PRIORITY.
