Nats, "Hi Dr. Ramsey, this is Britton."

INSTEAD OF APPLYING FOR A 9 TO 5 JOB AFTER GRADUATION... 23-YEAR-OLD BRITTON TUCK TOOK A DIFFERENT ROUTE.

Britton Tuck, Milledgeville: "It's made me re-evalute consumerism as a whole, and how I fit into that picture."

SHE'S VOLUNTEERING MORE THAN THE TYPICAL FORTY HOUR WORK WEEK...

Nats, cleaning up glue.

AND SHE'S LIVING AT THE POVERTY LEVEL... BY CHOICE.

Britton: "The currency that's important to me is the feeling I get from helping other people actualize their dreams."

AND SOME OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOLERS SHE'S HELPING... DON'T ALWAYS REALIZE... SHE'S LIVING LIFE... IN THEIR SHOES.

Britton: "When they're talking to me about the way I live, they find out that I don't have tv, that I do have food stamps, they're lookin' at me like, 'really??'"

IT'S NOT AN EASY ROAD... BUT SHE SAYS... SHE TAKES IT ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Britton Tuck, Milledgeville: "Pullin' yourself up by your bootstraps and sayin, 'ya know, I gotta go and do this.'"

SHE VOLUNTEERS THROUGH THE AMERICORE-VISTA PROGRAM... A VOLUNTEER SERVICE THAT WORKS WITH NON-PROFITS TO DO AWAY WITH POVERTY.
TUCK SPENDS HER TIME BEHIND THE DESK FOR COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS IN MILLEDGEVILLE... AND WORKS WITH THE STUDENTS BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL... AT OAK HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL.

Nats, walking down hallway.

SHE'S WALKING MORE THAN A MILE IN THE SHOES OF THE KIDS SHE'S HELPING... AND IT CREATES A BOND... THAT SHE SAYS... OTHERWISE WOULDN'T EXIST.

Britton: "It shows them that I'm human, I think it gives me some sort of street cred."

SHE'S HOPING THE KIDS SEE HER SUCCESS... AS MOTIVATION... TO CHASE THEIR OWN DREAMS.

Britton: "They can do anything they wanna do. And that is honestly the truth, as cliche as it sounds, that's the truth."
