AUTHORITIES SAY INTERSTATE 75 BETWEEN HARTLEY BRIDGE ROAD AND SARDIS CHURCH ROAD... IS BACK OPEN TONIGHT... AFTER IT WAS SHUT DOWN FOR NINE HOURS.
BIBB COUNTY SPOKESMAN SEAN DEFOE SAYS A TRACTOR TRAILER HAULING PLASTIC... WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES... AFTER THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL... AND HIT THE CONCRETE DIVIDER THAT SEPARATES THE NORTH AND SOUTH BOUND LANES OF I-75.
DEFOE SAYS IT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE SIX-30 THIS MORNING... AND SAYS NO ONE WAS INJURED.
LIVE ON THE PHONE IS CHRIS MYRICK... WHO WITNESSED THE ACCIDENT... AND SENT US SOME VIDEO.

SERGEANT DEFOE SAYS THE TRACTOR TRAILER WAS THE ONLY VEHICLE INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT.

A BIBB COUNTY MAN TURNED HIMSELF IN AFTER AN OFFICER FIRED AT HIM WHEN HE REFUSED TO DROP HIS SHOTGUN LAST NIGHT.

MACON POLICE SAY 53-YEAR OLD JEAN ARTHUR BARKER IS CHARGED WITH DISCHARGING A FIREARM WITHIN CITY LIMITS.
THEY SAY OFFICER JOEL WILDER RESPONDED TO SEVERAL CALLS ABOUT SHOTS FIRED ON PONCE DE LEON CIRCLE SOUTH AROUND 9-O-CLOCK.
THAT'S NEAR HOUSTON AVENUE AND NEWBERG AVENUE.
POLICE SAY WILDER TOLD BARKER TO DROP HIS WEAPON BUT BARKER RAISED THE SHOTGUN TO HIS SHOULDER AND POINTED IT AT HIM.
WILDER THEN FIRED ONE SHOT AT BARKER THAT MISSED... AND TOOK COVER BEHIND HIS VEHICLE.
BARKER DROPPED THE WEAPON AND TURNED HIMSELF IN.
THE BIBB COUNTY JAIL SAYS BARKER POSTED A SIX-HUNDRED-50 DOLLAR BOND THIS MORNING.
A CENTRAL GEORGIA COUPLE RANG IN THE NEW YEAR WITH A NEW BUNDLE OF JOY.

CRYSTAL AND DAVID WILSON OF JONES COUNTY WELCOMED MACON'S FIRST BABY OF 2011...SETH MATTHEW WILSON.
THE PARENTS SAY THE BABY CAME AT THREE TWELVE THIS MORNING... HE'S WRAPPED IN THE BLANKET MADE BY HIS GRANDMOTHER.
SETH WEIGHS EIGHT POUNDS AND 14-POINT TWO OUNCES.
HE WAS BORN AT THE MEDICAL CENTER OF CENTRAL GEORGIA.
THE WILSONS SAY THEY WERE NOT EXPECTING HIM UNTIL JANUARY 12TH... BUT THRILLED HE CAME JUST IN TIME FOR A NEW YEAR'S BIRTHDAY.
CRYSTAL WILON: "ITS EXCITING I DIDNT EXPECT ALL OF THIS, WE WERENT TRYING TO BUT IT JUST HAPPENED."
DAVID WILSON: "ITS VERY MUCH A FEELING OF STARTING OVER AGAIN IN A WAY, YOU KIND OF FEEL LIKE A NEW PARENT ALL OVER AGAIN. YOU HOPE YOU REMEMBER ALL THE THINGS YOU LEARNED FROM THE FIRST TWO, BUT I THINK WE'LL CATCH ON PRETTY QUICK."
THE WILSONS SAY SETH IS THEIR THIRD CHILD.

A MACON CHURCH KICKED OFF THE NEW YEAR WITH A PRAYER FOR THE CITY THIS MORNING.

ABOUT 100 PEOPLE CAME OUT TO MOUNT MORIAH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH FOR A PRAYER BREAKFAST.
THE THEME FOR THE BREAKFAST WAS HEALING OUR CITY THROUGH PRAYER.
CHURCH MINISTRY LEADER CARRIE WHITBY (WHIT-BEE) SAYS THEY USUALLY HAVE THE PRAYER ON NEW YEAR'S EVE... BUT SINCE MANY EVENTS TOOK PLACE LAST NIGHT...THEY DECIDED TO HAVE IT THIS MORNING.
WHITBY (WHIT-BEE) SAYS SHE HOPES THIS EVENT WILL INSPIRE MORE PEOPLE TO COME TOGETHER... AND PRAY FOR THE BETTER... OF THE COMMUNITY.

CARRIE WHITBY: "MY HOPES FOR THE NEW YEAR IS THAT WE CONTINUE TO LOVE EACH OTHER AND NOT DO ANYONE HARM, JUST CONTINUE TO LOVE EACH OTHER AND BECOME MORE CHRIST LIKE."

ABOUT 50 FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS GATHERED AT THE JEFFERSONVILLE NURSING HOME TO JOIN IN THE FESTIVITIES.
THEY ATE CAKES MADE FROM STEPHENS OWN SPECIAL RECIPES.
FAMILY MEMBERS SAY STEPHENS WORKED AS A COOK AND CAREGIVER FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS.
STEPHENS GREAT NEICE... DEBBIE HILL SAYS FAMILY MEMBERS TRAVELED FROM AS FAR AS COLORADO... TO BE WITH LILLIAN ON HER BIRTHDAY.

DEBBIE HILL, JEFFERSONVILLE: "WE LOVE OUR AUNT AND SHE LOVES US AND SHE'S BEEN A MOTHER GRANDMOTHER AND SHE'S BEEN AN AUNT AND MOST OF ALL BEEN A BEST FRIEND TO A LOT OF US.'

FAMILY MEMBERS SAY THEY DON'T HAVE STEPHENS BIRTH CERTIFICATE... BUT SAY CENSUS RECORDS SHOW SHE WAS BORN IN MONTROSE IN 19-11... BUT THEY SAY SHE COULD BE OLDER THAN THAT.

OTHERS IN MACON KEPT A 25-YEAR-OLD NEW YEAR'S DAY TRADITION GOING... BY HITTING THE WATER TODAY.

MEMBERS OF MACON'S WATER SKI CLUB TURNED OUT TO LAKE TOBOSOFKEE FOR THEIR ANNUAL NEW YEAR'S DAY CELEBRATION.

ORGANIZER QUINTON COTTON SAYS THIS YEAR... SKIIERS BRAVED COLD WATER... BUT TEMPS WERE NOT AS LOW AS SOME YEARS.
EIGHT YEAR OLD CIERA SCHULTZ SAYS AFTER FOUR YEARS OF WATER SKIING... SHE HOPES TO LEARN NEW MOVES THIS YEAR.

QUINTON COTTON: "WE'VE HAD ALL KINDS OF CONDITIONS FROM VERY COLD BREAKING ICE TO NOT QUITE SO COLD, WATER COLD AND RAINING, SO WE'VE HAD ALL KIND OF CONDITIONS, IT'S BEEN FUN."
