Jackie K. Cooper, a movie critic that lives in Perry, previewed the new movie titled "42" Wednesday night.
Baseball Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson wore the number 42 and is the only number that all major league baseball teams have retired.
Cooper rates the movie 9 out of 10, and said it will be a film that Oscar watchers in Hollywood shouldn't overlook.
A number of scenes easily visible in the movie are of Macon and in nearby Jones County. They include exterior shots of the intersection of Third and Cherry Streets, High Street, Luther Williams Field and a rural area of Jones County.
The movie features newcomer Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson and Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, the Brooklyn Dodgers owner that gave Robinson his start in the world of white American baseball.
